Little solar lights. Big impacts.

Affordable, high-quality solar lights

Namene solar lights are designed to help people and families thrive, wherever they live. We help customers replace harmful kerosene lamps, by providing safe, clean solar-powered lights for indoor and outdoor use.

Our portable solar lights are built to last and have won awards for their quality and accessibility. Our early SM100 model was named the world’s most affordable solar light and has won multiple awards.

Ending energy poverty

775 million people in the world don’t have access to electricity, many of them in Sub-Saharan Africa. Namene solar lights are an affordable first step on the clean technology ladder for off-grid families and communities, enhancing their daily lives and supporting their livelihoods.

Our inaugural 2 Million Lights programme has seen over 1 million solar lights  deployed in Zambia, Zimbabwe and Namibia since November 2021, with the lights being subsidised through our carbon credit programmes.

In 2019 the SM100 was awarded the Solar Impulse Label. The Solar Impulse Label is granted to innovative solutions to fight climate change that meet high standards of sustainability.
