Zimbabwe Project Information

The Southern Africa Solar Lighting Programme – Zimbabwe project has been designed to provide clean sources of lighting to the population without access to electricity for basic uses.

The project will do this by distributing up to 652,000 ultra-affordable pico-solar lights in rural households in the Zimbabwean provinces of Masvingo, Mashonaland East and Mashonaland West that currently rely on the use of kerosene and other fossil fuels for lighting.  The project intends to be implemented from Q1 2022 for 15 years.

Zimbabwe Climate Project Stakeholder Consultation Feedback

Namene Solar conducted separate stakeholder meetings for two projects across Zimbabwe in August and September 2021 to capture valuable feedback and comments.

Following these local stakeholder meetings, we are now in the Stakeholder Feedback Round (SFR) which includes a 60 days stakeholder commenting period, with a call for public feedback on the project starting on the 21st of November until 20th of January 2022.
